Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British-born American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who played lead guitar of the all-girl rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics made them popular in the rock world. The band was not able to achieve major success in the United States but earned huge popularity overseas especially in Japan. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford went missing from the music scene for a few years following both albums failed to be a huge success. In 1988, Ford released her smash album "Lita". Both the single "Kiss My Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. However, her fame was temporary, and she was gone for several years. The album's release Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
